Hanni Maoz
Associate
Hanni is an associate in the Environment and Climate Change practice at Herzog Fox & Neeman and provides regulatory support and legal advice in the context of legal proceedings and transactions across a wide range of environmental, climate and ESG matters.
Hanni regularly advises clients on sustainable finance and carbon trading, with a focus on the impact of global regulations, standards and market trends on business operations. In this context, she supports clients in developing strategies for participation in global carbon markets and navigating climate-related regulatory challenges.
In addition, Hanni advises financial institutions and corporations on the assessment and management of environmental and climate-related financial risks, helping clients turn climate-related regulatory challenges and market impacts into business opportunities and competitive advantages. She also provides advice on environmental and climate-related disclosures, both mandatory and voluntary, with the aim of ensuring transparency and mitigating greenwashing risks.
Hanni also advises industrial facilities and corporations operating in Israel on hazardous substances, waste, soil and groundwater contamination and air pollution. She conducts environmental due diligence and is involved in negotiating and drafting contractual provisions for the allocation of environmental and climate risks in the context of M&A transactions, capital raising and financing agreements, as well as advising on post-closing regulatory and operational matters.
Prior to joining the practice, Hanni worked as an attorney in the International Law Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she advised on various issues of international law and represented the State of Israel in negotiations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and other international treaties.
