Private Clients, Trusts & Estates
Meir Linzen, Herzog Fox & Neeman’s Managing Partner, heads the Tax Department and the Private Clients, Trusts and Estates Department, and has served as Chairman of STEP Israel for the last ten years.
One of the department's goals is to provide comprehensive legal services tailored to the unique needs of HNW individuals and families. Our team members represent clients in their personal and business matters in order to provide immediate and ongoing legal support. In addition, the team maintains close contact with foreign trustees and bankers, within many offshore and onshore jurisdictions.
The department's attorneys specialise in various disciplines, such as taxation, family law, real estate, corporate law and trusts, providing comprehensive advice while taking into account the different aspects derived from each situation, and offering a comprehensive solution for each client.
The department provides a wide range of services including:
- Wealth preservation – family wealth planning, trust and estate planning and management, asset protection, wealth transfers and contingency planning;
- Pre-nuptial and matrimonial relationships;
- Estate Planning – including preparation of wills and ancillary documents, probate, revocable and irrevocable trusts and foundations, allocation agreements, the efficient distribution of the estate assets among the relevant heirs;
- Strategic planning – with respect to taxes, gifting strategies, trusts, private and public foundations and other charitable planning;
- Voluntary Disclosure Programmes – assisting individuals and families in reporting their undeclared assets;
- Negotiations with the ITA for the receipt of unique tax rulings;
- Compliance services – this is a unique service provided to trusts and HNWI clients. The department has particular expertise in this field and, as far as we are aware, Herzog Fox & Neeman is the only Israeli law firm with a Tax Department that provides such services, customarily provided only by accounting firms in Israel.
- Helping families in structuring their charity policy and vehicles.
