Join us on 9th July for a webinar hosted by Herzog Law and BeZero Carbon
29 June 2025
With global carbon markets slated for exponential growth and the recent rise in advance project investments and offtakes, increased attention is being focused on the legal treatment of carbon credits.
That’s why BeZero Carbon is partnering with Herzog Law to host a live webinar, “De-risking carbon markets: Managing legal uncertainty in the treatment of carbon credits,” on Wednesday, 9 July, at 09:00 BST / 10:00 CET / 16:00 SGT.
A line-up of expert panellists will dive deeper into the evolving legal landscape, offering insights for investors, developers, and policy professionals navigating carbon credit transactions in a legally uncertain environment.
This session will unpack how uncertainty and inconsistencies in legal frameworks across countries can create challenges for scaling carbon markets, and what steps can be taken to manage that risk. We’ll explore tools like credit ratings and insurance, and look at efforts such as the UNIDROIT project to develop clearer global principles for how carbon credits are handled legally, including ownership, transfer, and use as collateral.
This webinar follows the recent publication of the joint report by BeZero Carbon and Herzog Law, “De-risking carbon markets: Managing legal uncertainty in the treatment of carbon credits.”
