International Arbitration
Herzog is one of the only law firms in Israel with a department dedicated to international arbitration.
The International Arbitration Department is headed by Dr. Roy Schondorf, the former Deputy Attorney General of Israel (International Law). Dr. Schondorf has significant experience in handling complex international arbitral proceedings, which he gained both in his positions in public service and while practicing international arbitration at a top-tier New York law firm (Debevoise & Plimpton LLP). Dr. Schondorf has contributed to the formation of the legal framework regulating the field of international arbitration in Israel; he has initiated and overseen the drafting of the proposed International Commercial Arbitration Law (currently under discussion in the Knesset), and was responsible for advancing Israel's accession to numerous international conventions in the fields of arbitration and mediation.
Our attorneys have extensive experience in handling international arbitral proceedings and have appeared in numerous international arbitral proceedings before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and other arbitration institutions.
Our attorneys are also experienced in representing clients in domestic proceedings accompanying international arbitration, including those for temporary orders in Israel in support of international arbitration and for the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Israel. Our attorneys have appeared in some of the most significant cases in the field of international arbitration litigated in the Supreme Court in the past two decades.
Our department works across a wide range of industries. Cases pertaining to a specific sector are handled in cooperation with partners in the firm who specialize in that sector - who are widely considered as leaders in their respective fields - thereby utilizing Herzog's full professional expertise to obtain optimal results for our clients.
Herzog's International Arbitration Department is committed to providing excellent professional services; to ensuring efficiency with the aim of minimizing costs; and to guaranteeing the highest level of availability in accordance with the client's needs.
