Herzog Fox & Neeman Represents Ashdod Port in Labour Dispute
29 May 2018
Herzog Fox & Neeman’s Labour and Employment Department advised the Ashdod Port at the National Labour Court in a dispute regarding port reforms, a case ongoing for five years. The hearing on the 28th of May 2018 saw renewed negotiations following the Shavuot (Pentecost) holiday and the latest illegal strike at the port. Whilst the union felt little headway was being made, the port management felt steps were being taken in the right direction, referencing the previous MOU, secured in January 2016 and added further stipulations.
Following discussions in the judge’s chambers, Vice President, Ilan Itach, agreed to a further meeting with the Transport Minister and the Chairman of the Union, coupled with continued negotiations. Further updates are expected following this meeting.
Ashdod Port is being advised by Herzog Fox & Neeman’s Haya Ehrman, Michal Haberfeld and Irit Bagon.
