Special Visa Extension

7 October 2020

Dear Colleagues and Clients,

On 1 October 2020, Israel’s Population & Immigration Authority extended work visas and work permits for individuals in the construction, agricultural, and expert fields. The extensions are automatic and do not require additional payment.

If a worker’s visa or permit expired between 1 July 2020 and 30 September 2020 and had not already been extended by a special extension related to COVID-19, the Authority is extending that visa or permit by an additional 3 months, from the document’s original expiration date.

If a worker’s visa or permit expired during that same time period but had already been extended by a special extension related to COVID-19, the Authority is extending that visa or permit by only 20 days, up to a maximum total extension of 3 months.
If a worker’s visa or permit has expired – or will expire – between 1 October 2020 and 30 November 2020 and was not already extended by a special extension related to COVID-19, the Authority is extending that visa or permit by 10 weeks.
