We are delighted to announce that, as of 1 January, 2017, Adv. Iris Weinberger has joined Herzog Fox & Neeman as a Partner to head our VAT, Indirect Taxes, Customs & International Trade Department.

Adv. Weinberger specializes in the field of VAT and Customs, and until recently served as the Senior Deputy General Counsel at the Israel Tax Authority. In this capacity, Iris was responsible for advising the Authority on all matters concerning VAT, Customs, Purchase Tax and Excise Duty, import and export customs procedures, collection and enforcement, seizures and forfeitures and more.

As Senior Deputy General Counsel, Iris led reforms in VAT protocol, import and export procedures and related legislation. Iris took part in determining the interpretation provisions, taxation decisions and positions of the Israel Tax Authority as presented in court, and provided legal advice to the management of the Tax Authority and various other departments.

We wish Iris the best of luck in her new role. Together we will continue to lead the tax field in Israel and will do so with the utmost dedication to our clients.
