New Developments – Ban on Entry to Israel for Non-Citizens/Non-Residents
21 December 2020
Dear Clients and Colleagues,
In a new development, the Israeli government has decided to bar entry to the country by anyone who is not a citizen or a resident of Israel – including an individual who already received prior ministerial approval to enter the country. Exceptions to this rule will be very limited. The current measure will last approximately two weeks; however, the government will consider revising this period (to shorten it or to lengthen it), depending on how circumstances develop.
In addition, if any Israeli citizen or resident returns to Israel from abroad (regardless of the location) after Wednesday, 23 December at 5:00 pm, he or she will be required to enter a “quarantine hotel” upon arrival, for a period of mandatory isolation.
Please let us know if you have questions or need advice on issues related to this measure.
