What are the consequences on contract law caused by the Covid-19 pandemic?
Our partners, Gilad Wekselman and Racheli Pery Reichman, associate Shahar Iluz, and intern Neri Lavi represent the operators of an events venue, with respect to the evacuation verdict the operators received, following a dispute regarding the rent with the owners of the location.
The case reached the Supreme Court, which issued a decision resulting in the postponement of the evacuation verdict.
The Supreme Court’s final decision on this matter can set a precedent for commercial contracts affected by Covid-19, especially since the relevant regulators haven’t yet set explicit and binding rules and arrangements for matters involving the consequences of the pandemic on such contacts.
