Deyar AbuRahal
Associate
Deyar Abu Rahal is an Israeli-qualified lawyer specializing in international dispute resolution. She is currently an Associate in Herzog’s International Dispute Resolution Department, where she previously completed her legal internship.
Deyar has experience in public international law, international arbitration, and proceedings involving the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and judgments in Israel, including disputes raising complex issues of international and domestic law. Her practice includes matters concerning the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, as well as issues of state sovereignty and sovereign immunity. She also works on matters relating to investment arbitration and other international disputes.
Deyar holds an LL.B. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Certificate in Transnational Legal Studies from the Center for Transnational Legal Studies (CTLS) in London, where she focused on transnational, European, and comparative law. During her academic studies, she developed a particular interest in both public and private international law and attended courses in public international law at The Hague Academy of International Law.
Deyar also has experience in international commercial arbitration, including through her involvement in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. After competing as a member of the CTLS Vis Moot team, she went on to coach the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Vis Moot team and taught the accompanying academic course in international commercial arbitration.
